Quilty things I've been working on

I didn't realize that I hadn't blogged since the end of November...doesn't seem like it's been that long but then again it doesn't seem like it's going to be Christmas next weekend either. The last few weeks (and probably on the road to Maryland next weekend) have been spent working on finishing up projects for Christmas. The Purple Princess (my Janome 6500) has been busy finishing projects that were previously pieced but hadn't been quilted yet. She has done a great job and since Gloria dragged me out to Jeff's Sewing and Vac yesterday, she no longer snags because I bought the straight stitch plate for her. Smart cloth patterns have been finished up for lap quilts and I've taken a picture of the back of one to show the quilting (this was before the stitch plate was changed. The feathered cardinal wall-hanging was machine pieced but hand quilted for the practice. Gingerbread placemats were finished up (since I ran out of time last Christmas). The pattern for them came from
  • Marcia Hohn's
  • . This one is of the thread painting practice picture when I took the PPQ class from
  • Margaret Hunt

  • on our weekend trip with the girls last month. The last one is a hand painted picture that I did at play day over at Margaret's that I hope to one day get thread painted...maybe not as heavily painted as the previous one though...
