I've finished the Chic Lace Shawl that I made using James C Brett Marble yarn. The colors are heathery and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Here's a close up of the pattern.

It was a gorgeous day outside today. The finches have really liked the mixed seed I've been putting in the feeder.

The quilt top is finished. All that's left is putting on borders. The quilt inspector was on the spot for photo taking as usual.

The pieced borders are on!!!

Mourning dove on the back deck. They were one of the first birds to show up here when I first started feeding birds. There wings make the neatest sound when they take flight. This one looks like it's posing for its picture.

Quilting supervisor hard at work

I actually do manage to do some quilting somtimes. I was working on 1/2 square triangles today for the block of the month our guild is doing. Well I was able to get the individual blocks done but haven't sewn the pieces together for the larger block yet.

Backyard Bloomers

my lenten rose is blooming!!! it's very exciting considering it wasn't planted until last summer to actually have it bloom this year. of course Wilbur has been digging right beside it so something will have to be done about that!

pyracantha with blossoms

wigelia blooming profusely. it will continue to bloom throughout the summer but not nearly as prolifically.

fire cracker plant fixin to bloom

i've left the blackberry bushes (courtesy of the birds and fertilization) to keep Wilbur from eating the honeysuckle plants (as he's prone to doing)....so far it's working

we had a couple of nights where the frost hit us after an unseasonably warm March. some of the plants and crepe myrtle trees suffered from the damage to their tender leaves.

around the pond. one of the to dos was to get a new pump for the pond, which we never got around to doing.
