Sunday at the River Walk

My sister, Misty, bil Eric & niece Kylie came for a quick visit on Monday and Tuesday. After lunch we headed for the River Walk in downtown Augusta on the Savannah River.
This picture shows some of the flood markers.

Eric and Misty in front of the paddlewheel.

Kylie does not feel like having her picture taken.

The train bridge from Georgia to South Carolina.

Kylie likes the park and the slides.

View of the Savannah River looking at the South Carolina side.

The pink lantana is gorgeous growing alongside the steps to the
upper walkway level.

The episcopal church holds free concerts on Tuesdays once a month.

Discovery Place...where kids of all sizes enjoy the waterball....

Kylie goes into the helicopter
only after daddy goes first but once in there, she's a ham!!!!

Checking out the sundial....

Amphitheater holds c
oncerts during the summer months...fireworks on the river are great on the 4th of July too...boats come in and it's a very festive occasion.

The statue for the law
enforcement officers is being repaired so it's pictured in 2 parts instead of all together...

wildlife on the river includes turtles and ducks....

and of course squirrels...this one has had
some sort of altercation because it's tail is pretty sad...

The oriental garden is a great spot to sit and relax or get pictures taken...

We stopped at the Cotton Patch for sodas when we were finished our walk.

Okay, so everyone knows how much I love the old brick archite
cture...this is the Cotton Patch and it's outside eating area. The old iron is cool too. You know how much I love the old brick architecture.

There is an evergreen of some sort there that Misty and I
were interested in....don't know what kind it is???? anyone????

The old King George Restaurant has been gone for awhile but is n
