What dog breed are you? I'm a Jack Russell Terrier! Find out at Dogster.com

Shawl

I finished blocking Berroco's Michaela shawl today. Actually the shawl was finished a while ago and mysteriously disappeared. Doug found it in one of the scout store boxes this weekend when the OA went camping...then he tried to say he found it in the sofa cushion (like I hadn't looked there a bazillion times before). Well at least I'm glad to have it back and in one piece!!

Lazy slugs

Lazy slugs Wilbur and Spunky share the bed this weekend while Doug and the boys went camping. It's the only time the dogs are allowed to sleep in the bed.

Similarities

I found this tiger pic and the look on his face so reminded me of Kylie when she told me 'I said no more pictures'...what do you think???

It's winter here again in Georgia the wind is blowing and the trees are whipping around and it's only going to get to be around 45 degrees today. Do I sound like I'm whining? Well considering it was 10 degrees warmer yesterday and 10 degrees warmer than that the day before it's icky here and I'm fragile. Of course this is fairly normal for here and my ranting and raving also is very normal. I'm wanting summer, yes including the humidity and all; I'm a fair weather girl and I can live with that. So here's wishing you warm weather wherever you are and sunny skies and signs of spring everywhere. This puzzle reminds me of warm weather and sunny skies so I'll share it with you...enjoy.

Dogs On Thursday

Charlotte started out the day lounging in the bed.

Here she is outside watching Wilbur play ball.

Wilbur wants to play ball....

And I wonder why my azalea bushes are broken up....

Blooming stuff

After trying to grow them from seeds and failing miserably, I broke down last fall and bought a full grown plant. It is blooming profusely in its first year so it must be happy in the spot I chose.

Forsythia bush Dad dug up for me last fall and the vinca that came with it.

Hyacinth's are one of my favorite flowers. This one was given to me a few years ago from my friend, Jadene. It started out as a single plant and has spread into this lovely cluster.

Azalea's are starting to bloom.

Finished Socks

I finished Everyday Socks last night. I used Gedifra Sportivo yarn color #5712. Now Brandy and I have matching socks (although hers are in a different pattern).

Sock progress

Just a few more rounds (well maybe more than a few) and the 2nd sock will be done.

Saturday Sky

Today was a beautiful day in the 70's. We have the windows open and are enjoying the warm breezes blowing in the fresh air. The sky was clear and a gorgeous blue to boot...what a lovely day.

Deconstruction of the Sitting Room

This is how Doug spent the better part of his Saturday. This has certainly turned into a major project instead of a little repaint the room. This bumpout window has settled and I really think that has everything to do with the leaking that has occurred. The drywall had started to buckle and this seemed like the perfect time (when I'm already stripping off the spitballs) to tend to the problem. I will add that I was quite impressed with the drywaller who worked on the ceilings...he did an excellent mudding job (of course you can't see that for the knicking I did with the removal of the spit).

Another Messy Project Started

Today was the first day working in the old sewing room/new sitting room. I was taking down the spitball ceiling and what a chore that was. 6 hours later (good thing I don't hire out or I'd starve) I was finished with only a few nicks and gouges (in the ceiling that is). The garden sprayer made this job go by oodles faster than the hand squirt bottle I used in the new sewing room and I did a much better job this time too.

I tried to get a shot of the dogs but took too long loading up the camera so they came to see what I was up to...Charlotte was covered in ceiling dust.

I did however manage to get a pic of the construction/sewing inspector checking out the mess I was making.

As If A Rainy Day Weren't Enough

As if a rainy day weren't enough, Doug woke me yesterday morning at 6AM to tell me about this:

What is it? you ask...it just looks like a pile of stuff in the bottom of your closet, you say....Well dearies, this is where it used to be:

And yes, his just telling me about it gave me a headache, the rain compounded the headache...the rain is gone today, the headache is not.

The upside (yes there absolutely is an upside) is that I will get new storage for my closet...another project...*sigh*

And how was YOUR day???

New Sewing Room Update

Believe it or not, progress IS being made...or at least this is what I keep telling myself. It's closer to done but I'm beginning to wonder if it will EVER be finished. Other than using the computer I haven't been able to do anything in here and I'm beginning to get whiny about it.

There is still stuff to take out of here completely that will go downstairs so I'm starting to make piles and line the hallway so they can be relocated. Maybe that will make me feel better...

and here is some of the stuff still waiting to get into the new sewing room....*sigh*
