Mom's Garden

The drive from Georgia to Maryland was a wet one mostly from light drizzle to much heavier as I went from warm Georgia weather to cold wet Maryland. The next day I was out taking pictures of moms garden and the signs of spring there. You can see the water still pooling on the sidewalk and the yard had plenty of mini lakes going on. The juniper on the side of the house has overgrown so much and desperately needs to be replaced. The tree would look funny if you were to cut out the overhanging branch so that's not an alternative to it's seriously blocking the sidewalk.

Apparently this Dwarf Mugho Pine didn't get the memo...it's anything but dwarf size.

Primroses in the basket are a happy addition on the porch.

Don't you just love those little flowers that take it upon themselves to reseed and bloom wherever they want?? These little purple flowers are ones that were originally in containers mom had on the railing.

Spring flowers are starting to pop up and bloom in Mom's garden. It has been a chilly spring in Maryland and was rainy off and on while I was up there.

The original deck off the master bedroom addition had to be replaced this year. Daddy did a good job on the replacement deck...he's very handy making flower beds and laying patios and building decks...he can even hang wallpaper!!

Moms fosythia bushes are huge. I've taken the distance pic so you can get an idea just how large it really is...over 6ft tall and much wider. Daddy dug a small one for me that I planted in the fall and bloomed this year when we had spring in Georgia.

The trees were in bloom so it was like enjoying spring all over again. The small tree in the front yard is such a pretty pink but I wanted to include the neighbors trees which were stunning lining the street.

I think mom said this was a viburnum. It smells delicious and a few days later Tory and I toured the gardens and cut off a sprig that was in full bloom...they are simply gorgeous and the scent filled the kitchen...yummy!!

Tory & Kylie

Well I finally made it to Maryland to see the newest Houghton/Levasseur who was born in January. Tory is a little cutie bug (like her big sister, Kylie) and very smiley too (well usually).

Here she is with big sister after she was done her bath...Tory went in shortly afterwards for hers.

This is what is known as UNHAPPINESS if you weren't sure by the expression.

Daddy Eric and his girls (well the 2 little ones anyway-Misty was abstaining from the photography session).

Kylie and her Easter bunny and purse. I'm so glad I have one cooperative photography subject in the family.

Auntie Kim and Tory.

Auntie Kim and Kylie watch the Hannah Montana movie together on the kiddie sofa....looks cute, is soft, is NOT easy to get back out of...

On Sunday Kylie came to Memaws and had choir practice in the kitchen....

Uncle Doug takes a turn holding Tory.

Momma Misty and Tory...and you can hardly tell Misty is gritting her teeth wondering just how long this is going to take before it's finally overwith.....

Kylie sacks out in the rocking chair.

Meemaw burping Tory.

Timothy's visit

Jack says 'enough of this family crap, let me outta here'....

Timothy came over to mom & dad's one evening for supper and brought his friend Liz with him. She was real cute and fit right in with the family right away.

I finally got a pic of his new-2-him truck...of course he was making a goofy face and I went ahead and blogged it anyway (sooner or later they will all learn that I can and will embarrass them in a large audience :) ).

Visit to Brandy's

Not quite sure how it happened, but Brandy managed to stay out of the pictures this trip up north. That just means I'll have to take twice as many when I go up in June...bwahaha.....

Shawn is the most cooperative of the bunch (thankfully) but I did get some pics of Kristopher and of Phillip while he grilled supper one evening.

He's a great chef on that grill I tell ya!!

Brandy and I stayed up late both days I was at her house - one night we were up till 3:30am. We went to Spence's on Tuesday and hit the Amish market for meats, cheeses and butter....good stuff!!

Shawn's Soccer Practice

while I was in Delaware we went to Shawn's soccer practice. This year he is on his best friend, Zack's team and they were having a great time.

Dogs On Thursday

This is a short Dogs on Thursday post a day earlier. Michael and I are headed to Maryland to visit family over Masters and are leaving Thursday. We will meet up with his dad who is working up there for the next few weeks.

Charlotte and Wilbur sometimes sleep snuggly together. Aren't they just too cute?? They have been taking advantage of Doug's being gone and getting to waller in the bed.

We packed up our Spring Dog Swap package and Wilbur & Charlotte gave their seal of approval.
