When I am going to new places I always try to check out the local quilting and knitting shops close by. I left early from Augusta so I would have time to go shopping before the MITI Conference started. Railroad Square is an eclectic mix of shops which are highly decorated and imaginative. It was not what I expected and was a delightful surprise!! They have a First Friday like Downtown Augusta does here in Georgia.

They even paint the trucks!!

Final destination: Really Knit Stuff
Where i found all sorts of wonderful treasures in yarn!!

She was having a wonderful sale on Cherry Hill Yarn and Ribbon. I even picked up a couple of Lambs Pride for purses. Aren't they lovely??
I don't know what happened yesterday but blogger went on the fritz before I could finish blogging my Moms In Touch pictures....argh. Technology sometimes makes me crazy.

Thomasville Baptist Church hosted the MITI Southeast Regional Stand Firm Conference in Tallahassee, Florida.

Janet Mackert, the Southeast Regional Coordinator for Moms In Touch International, is our faithful leader for South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

There were well over 200+ women at the Stand Firm Conference held in Tallahassee, Florida, August 24th -25th.

We had workshops, luncheons, and dessert fellowship too. The Tallahassee MITI group members went way out of their way to make us all feel welcome and at home.

Thanks Tallahassee MITI!!!!

Jill, Claudia and Jacqui - some of our Augusta Area Moms.

We had never met but anytime you find MITI moms, you find a new friend...

This was the beautiful AND delicious cake (made by Angela Olexa) for dessert. Isn't it darling??? I may have to look into cake decorating myself.

Day at the Lake

Today we went to the lake. Those that have lived here forever call it Clarks Hill although it was renamed Thurmond a few years back (back around the time we first moved here). It's a hoot because we live in Georgia, drive through South Carolina so we can get to the Georgia side of the lake...go figure.

The day was gorgeous, not too hot, clear blue sky and the water was not cold. It also wasn't crowded or noisy either.

Water level is down so the boys swam across to the beach on the other side where we were.

Doug cooked burgers and dogs for lunch. Food is always better outdoors (and cooked by someone else).

Rat at the Lake

I have never ever seen a rat in the wild until today.

I am not a big fan of rats, however, after my sister raising them for years and years I am not afraid of them either. Yes I know they can be germ and disease ridden...I wasn't playing with it but I wasn't running away either.....

Apparently Michael had thrown a piece of sausage at Katie and the rat came and took it away....

Another sock done...this time a pink one (my very favorite color). It's called Diamond Lace and is done in Tofutsies sock yarn.

You Are the Index Finger

You are ambitious, driven, and capable.
You aren't afraid to take responsibility for your actions - or place the blame on whoever deserves it.
You are honest, free thinking, and objective. You see things in your own way - and you aren't afraid to let everyone know about it.

You get along well with: The Thumb

Stay away from: The Ring Finger

Finished Bamboozle Socks

I've finished the Bamboozle summer Dream Socks that I used the Tofutsies yarn #723. The first sock didn't stripe but the 2nd one did. Not sure what I did to make that happen.
